JOHANNESBURG – After launching a trading platform for South Africans, VALR is now planning to launch a new app as they have also reached over 30% of the South African market share.

VALR Co-Founder & Chief Product Officer Badi Sudhakaran exclusively had a chat with Crypto Magazine as far as their journey is concerned, whilst also stating that they have traded over R20 million worth of Bitcoin traded in a period of 24 hours.

Moreover, Sudhakaran revealed that they have plans to launch a new app in the next week as their clients have constantly for it.

Crypto Magazine: Q: How has been the response since you launched about two months ago?

Badi Sudhakaran: Not only are we growing our user base rapidly, but we are also hitting record highs in trading volumes over the past couple of weeks. Last week, we hit a record 24-hour volume of 122 BTC. Today, we clocked over 128 BTC. That is over R20 million worth of Bitcoin traded in a period of 24 hours. On a good trading day, VALR has reached over 30% of the South African market share in terms of the trading volume.

Crypto Magazine: What kind of messages of support have you been getting from the traders or clients since the platform offers them to trade in Rands?

Badi Sudhakaran: We are extremely happy with the market reception in South Africa. Customers have come to love our product. Our customer service has been recognised as the best in the industry.

Crypto Magazine: Are there any developments or new products that you have identified to improve the brand?

Badi Sudhakaran: Our mobile app will be released in the next week or so. This is something that a lot of our customers have been asking for. We’ve worked hard to create the simplest and most secure way to trade using our mobile app. Along with this, there are various initiatives on the go to improve the trading experience for our users that we will be announcing in the coming weeks and months.

Crypto Magazine: We cannot leave you without touching on the challenges, any challenges you have experienced in your journey so far?

Badi Sudhakaran: We are very fortunate to have a solid team behind VALR. We come across challenges day in and day out. Having an incredibly talented team with tremendous motivation to serve our customers really helps overcome these challenges and focus our energies on building a world-class product that really serves South Africans.

Crypto Magazine: Interesting and thanks for sharing these developments with Crypto Magazine.

Badi Sudhakaran: VALR is really the best place to buy Bitcoin and crypto in South Africa. We have a Rewards Programme like none other in the industry. We have paid out over half a million rand worth of rewards to our customers over the last couple of months. So, if someone is into crypto in South Africa and they haven’t heard of us or haven’t tried us out, they are really missing out on a lot!
